Wanted to tell you a story of how your 'family project' became a part of my 'family project'. As a mother of four daughters ranging from 18-30 and a 10 year old granddaughter I am all about family. As it happens my daughters' birthdays are all in the spring, so this year I was looking for a gift that would mean something to all of us, a legacy of sorts
But in these financial times something that didn't cost and arm and a leg. I happened upon you at the ewomen networking event and I couldn't get the Meridane symbol out of my head. I knew I found the perfect gift for a group of very distinct young women.
I took the group out to eat and talked to them about the idea of creating a 'family crest', one that would have a 'secret' meaning only to us. They liked the idea and as a group we came up with what that meaning was. (The actual meaning for us isn't important to explain as the beauty of the symbol is that each family can give it their own special meaning.) What is important is that when we wear it, we have a connection to each other. I know personally when I'm having a bad day (or a difficult client) or just need centering, I will reach up and hold the symbol in my hand and I find it comforting as for me it represents not only my daughters and granddaughter, but also my mom, my brothers and sisters..my family.
With my daughters buy-in, I bought six pendants that each receive on their birthdays. I let each decide which size they wanted or if they wanted it plain or with a stone. Four of us wanted the plain version, while two wanted the stones, some wanted the big one, others the small and various chain lengths etc. So within the family of VERY diverse and I might say STRONG personality types we were able to make the symbol style work for each.
My oldest daughter liked the idea so much that she had a tattoo of our 'family crest' put on the inside of her wrist. She wanted something that would be not only serve as a constant reminder of family, but as a reminder of other things, like being a better mother, or better person. She says if she needs encouragement or centering or maybe even patience at any given moment, she can look at the symbol and be reminded of what is important and what she needs at that given moment.
Also just wanted to let you know that the Meridane symbol now intertwines your family's lives with my family's lives in what I think is a cool way. Hope others find that something as simple as creating a family symbol can be a way to stay connected to their loved ones as well!

I came accross the Hidden Meaning charm this past November and I was immediately drawn to it. On hearing the story I knew I had to have one and I knew right away that mine said "Relay For Life"; I am a breast cancer survivor and a Relay For Life enthusiast.
I wear mine along with a little purple survivor ribbon charm. You know how you feel when you forget your watch at home and it feels like you left your entire arm there too; since November I've become essentially naked without it, it's become that necessary to me. It always reminds me of my passion and my mission, Celebrating, Remembering, and Fighting Back! I find that I reach for it frequently, often when someone is telling me about their loved one who is battling or has lost their battle to cancer, I realize I'm holding their names there along with the names of all the survivors I know or will know-they're why I Relay. My Hidden Meaning charm embraces and shares my heart and I can't imagine any other single piece of jewelry that could ever serve me or my heart so well!

I am in love with my Hidden Meaning sterling silver bracelet! Being a fashion jewelry fanatic and dabbling in creating my own pieces, it's often that I can appreciate another artists work, however it's not often that I admire and appreciate a symbol.
It all started when I left New Jersey to attend a an E-Women's conference in Texas last summer. During my free time, I perused the vendors in the expo room and my eyes were instantly drawn to the Meridane Jewelry table. It was so intriguing I just had to find out more information. When I heard the story about the creation of this lovely symbol I just knew it was for me. I love the fact that it can have any meaning you want it to have and it can be worn by both men and women. It's all about individuality and expressing your emotions outwardly but in an intimate way if that makes sense. I love the sterling silver bracelet because it's just the right size and blends in with other jewelry. This is also a great gift for not only someone you love but it's also great for the person who has everything. It's so unique, special and personal that anyone will love it!
Enjoy!

I found my Hidden Meaning bracelet by chance at the Junior League Holiday Magic. I loved it right away. I am a believer in positive thinking and knew this bracelet would be perfect for me. I don’t take it off; I wear it everywhere, even when I am working out at the gym.
It gives me strength and a great feeling. If I feel in a bad mood I just look at my bracelet and I am instantly in a better mood. I receive compliments everywhere I go; it really is a great conversation starter.

My son and his family gave me a pendant for Mother's Day this year. My 11 year-old grandson, who actually saw it first, asked me daily, "What does it say today, Grandma?" There's something very magical about the charm.
It just doesn't get bought. It gets discovered and bought. It has the power to evoke, "WOW, look what I found!"
I lost the pendant about 2 weeks ago. Now that I remembered where I put your descriptive card, I am able to order another! Thanks for such a great symbol!

My Mom passed away a year ago tomorrow, April 13, 2009. Last fall I was going through some old things and found a necklace she had given my son when he was a baby. It was almost the same as the Meridane design--but just had the letters I-L-O-V-E-Y-O-U superimposed on each other.
I decided it was priceless and wanted one for myself. I spend hours looking on the internet, searching for such a design. I could not find it anywhere. Then I came across the Meridane design and was thrilled. It was similar enough to remind me of the necklace my Mom had purchased, but even better because it had all of the letters of the alphabet, all the numbers, and a peace symbol. I have purchased several pendants to give to people, but, as others have said, never plan to take mine off. It is very special to me, and I love that I can give one to someone else with any message I choose. Thank you for creating such a unique and special design!

I received a gorgeous Hidden Meaning Pendant with a Crystal Sphere Stone in the center of the Symbol. The bail on the pendant is large enough that it will easily fit almost any type of chain, so you can switch it to a chain of your choice and preference in the future.
When I took the box out of the padded envelope it arrived in the presentation was really fabulous! The necklace was placed in a large square black box that had the elegant Meridane Design Logo and graphic stamped in silver font on the top of the box. I immediately knew that inside the box was an exceptional "gift" and I was not disappointed. Not only was there the stunning necklace, but also a sweet gift card telling me to "Spread the Love" which I most definitely plan to do! There was also a larger card in the box explaining exactly what the symbol is all about, with examples of how the symbol contains each letter of the alphabet and the numbers 0-9. So if you are giving this pendant or any form of the symbol as a gift, the receiver will immediately understand all about the symbol.
If you are looking for a gift for either a man or a woman, because this symbol is unisex, and the person you are buying for has everything, then look no more, because they won't have this symbol in their possession. It is the perfect gift for the person who thinks they have everything. And what is even more enticing is you can decide what you want the symbol to mean, you decide the message you want to send with it. You can create your own special message to those that you love, and you are only limited by your own imagination!

Hi Sally,
I met your kids (Merida & Dane) today at the Parker Show in San Antonio. I too am a mother. My daughter is about their age. I wanted you to know the pride that I saw in your children's faces as they told your story. I wanted you to know the LOVE that I could feel in their voices as they spoke of your design and the message it speaks.
We do many things for our children in their lives and never know the impact it has on their lives. I wanted you to know that they have indeed been touched by you and are proudly sharing it with complete strangers that they meet. It is very profound this LOVE they share with this world and this Love they speak of when they speak of you. Well Done.
I have purchased my first 4 pendants and they too will speak volumes to my own family. They will sing every song, recite every poem, and tell of all of the pride and joy that I have for them in this one simple pendant. Very powerful.
Thank you!

Last year my Grandpa passed away and I wanted to get my Grandmother something to remember him by. One of my friends recommended that I check out Meridane Design. I was awed by the power and possibilities of the Hidden Meaning symbol and decided to get her one.
The pendant came with a card that allowed me to gift to her with customized message so I put……
To: Grandma From: Brent Message: RIP Robert E. Todd
She called me immediately after receiving it in the mail and told me she would never take it off. To this day the first thing she tells me every time I talk to her is that she is wearing her necklace! This symbol is SO MUCH MORE than a piece of jewelry!
Thanks Meridane Design!

Think of what is meaningful to you.... I have a necklace that represents that! I was very fortunate to be able to review Meridane Design's Love and Empowerment Symbol necklace. It's a lovely design with a great story behind it, and it would make the perfect Valentine's Day gift or any occasion gift for someone you love.
The symbol was designed when the company owners' mother was writing "Love is all U need," with the letters stacked upon each other. She added a peace sign, and the result was both aesthetically and spiritually lovely. Merida, Dane, and their mother realized that each letter of the alphabet and numerals 0-9 were in the design! Plus, it's multi-lingual.
The possibilities are endless: Believe, Carpe Diem, Strength, Empowerment, Love, Inspire, a special anniversary or birthday, names. When I was wearing the necklace, I found myself using it to ground myself when I was anxious, and Hope was what I kept seeing in the design.
The necklace came packaged in a pretty black and silver box and enclosed was a card detailing the different letters and numbers in the symbol and examples of personal messages to find within it. Also enclosed was a lovely gift card from the kind people at Meridane. I was struck by how high-polish the sterling silver was and how beautiful the symbol is. Mine came on a standard 18'' chain; Meridane has several lengths and styles to choose from. They also make the symbol with semi-precious, bezel-set stones, gold, and they offer bracelets (I LOVE the bracelet) and t-shirts. The Symbol is a lovely focal piece and a conversation starter.
This piece is more than just jewelry, it has meaning. Unlike other personalized jewelry, the message is hidden in plain sight. You choose what it represents to you, and spell out what you want to say.
Spread the Love!

As I wandered the Country Peddler show on Saturday, November 28, I was at a crossroad in my life. I'd just sold my home, packing almost everything I own into a 10' x 20' store room, while I stay with my beau. At 46 I'm starting over. I'm houseless, mortgageless, virturally debt free.
But still standing at the crossroad, wondering where life will lead me next. 2009 has been a very challenging year for me. Doors closing, and windows opening.
When I rounded the tent and saw the symbol, I thought - "How unique!" and then Sally told us the story behind it and my girlfriend, Pixie, and I were both stunned. I knew I had to have one, but I also knew that the women in my life all needed one too. I could see the wheels turning in Pixie's head - I looked at her and said - "You are not buying yours!" I bought 6 of the charms, one for each of five the amazing women in my life and one for me.
Pixie has been there for me through so many tough days and I knew that this was my way of saying "Thank You" and "I Love You" to her and the other women in my life. I'm not sure how I would have survived the past year without Pixie and our band of friends. Now each one of these amazing women will have a special symbol to let them know just how much I appreciate and love them.
Thank you Sally for an amazing, beautiful, design. I will wear mine proudly and think of you and your story each time I put it on.
Warm regards and much success!

Meridane Design came in to my life when I needed it most. At the beginning of June, 2009, I sat around in a daze after receiving the most dreaded news, that a dear friend of mine "Kelly" had just lost her beautiful eight-year-old son "Charles" to acute encephalitis.
I had no idea what to do. I felt that nothing would be good enough.
A day or so later, I was looking at the Summer/Fall 2009 Durango Magazine, when on page 12, I saw the "What U Love symbol." As I read the story, I felt a strong desire to have one of my very own. On the website I saw, "Spread Love and Empowerment" and "We do private shows." That is the point where I had a clear vision and knew that I had to act.
I could see Charles's name in the pendant, and envisioned one with turquoise being sent to Kelly, with a card signed by all of her "western sisters" in solidarity for her loss… a collaboration of women being brought together to form a solidarity group, sharing in the symbol and the promotion of the local family's creation. My inner voice said, "You can have an afternoon tea and private showing and invite all of your "western sisters." This is exactly what I did, with no hesitation. I sound-boarded with friends and family and our group name quickly became, "SISTERS OF THE WESTERN SLOPE," or SOWS. I called Dane Short and we spoke in depth. Next, arrangements were made to meet and speak with his mother Sally. While walking on the DGO Riverwalk, she agreed (pending venue approval) to a private showing on 7/19, a Sunday afternoon tea from 2:00 to 4:00. I spoke with The Strater Hotel and the date was secured, and then invitations were prepared and sent.
Our first SOWS gathering was full of love! Meridane Design graciously contributed the most beautiful pendant/necklace set for Kelly and provided food for the event. $150.00 was raised for Charles's charity, The Children's Hospital Foundation, in Louisville, KY. SOWS sent Kelly and her family a package filled with love, sympathy and hope. Every Charter Member contributed one yard of her favorite fabric to construct Sister comfort quilts to be given to future recipients who are facing hardships or losses, with no strings attached. Our packages will include a quilt, a card signed by all of the SOWS saying, "Sending our love," and a mission statement to share our story. We are a circle of compassion, and we will help spread love and solidarity to those in need. American Poet, Rod McKuen said, “If you love somebody, tell them.” This is what we aim to do through a genuine desire to add hope and joy to our world by helping to alleviate suffering and despair.
None of this would be possible without Meridane Design. They will forever hold a special place in my heart ~ I wish them nothing but love and happiness in all that they do!
Love, Jen
